Are you covered by medicare overseas?
Did you know that your Medicare card can be used overseas? This is covered by the Australian Government Reciprocal Health Care Agreements.
There are numerous countries that recognise Medicare. Each provides different levels of free and subsidised medical services including hospitals, GP’s, dental and medicines.
This is definitely not a substitute for travel insurance but may save you money.
Click here to see if the country you are travelling to has an agreement in place.
